Ria Lu is the Executive Director of the Game Developers’ Association of the Philippines, and Founder of Komikasi Games and Entertainment. She has had eleven years of business experience, and is well-versed when it comes to game and app development.
She is Past-President of the Soroptimist International Club of Paranaque, a socio-civic organization advocating the betterment of the lives of women and girls; a past board member of the Game Developers’ Association of the Philippines and of SIGGRAPH Manila; a current board member of the Serious Games Association of the Philippines; and a 2015 awardee of the GoNegosyo Filipina Entrepreneurship Award.
She is also experienced in curriculum and material development in the fields of game development, entrepreneurship, and creative writing. She loves teaching and has given numerous talks and workshops on game design, writing, and business. She was part of the team who developed the National Certificate vocational course on 2D Game Art in the Philippines. She is active in the development efforts of the Philippine Game Industry, and is involved particularly in its talent development efforts.
